About The Position

HealthRIGHT 360, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to vulnerable populations. The organization's mission is to address systemic barriers to healthcare and promote health equity. Services include mental health care, substance use treatment (residential and outpatient), and primary health services, along with transitional support for individuals re-entering the community from the criminal justice system. HealthRIGHT 360 integrates physical and behavioral health to help individuals overcome challenges by addressing social determinants of health, fostering resilience, and facilitating recovery. The Philanthropy Department is crucial for securing private funding and building relationships with institutional funders and donors. This department collaborates across the organization to translate program outcomes into impactful funding opportunities, align resources with strategic priorities, and support the sustainability and growth of services for underserved communities. The Grant Writer supports this mission by developing grant proposals, reports, and donor communications that effectively convey program impact and funding needs. This role involves collaboration with programs, finance, and leadership to ensure accurate, high-quality submissions, compliance with funder requirements, and the securing of resources for integrated health, housing, and reentry services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or philanthropy.
  • Experience drafting donor communications, impact narratives, or fundraising materials.
  • Experience managing multiple writing projects and competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Grant writing certification or coursework a plus.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or human services field preferred.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional inputs (program, finance, leadership) for proposals preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all components of grant proposals meet funder requirements and accurately represent the organization’s qualifications, expertise, and program design.
  • Write and edit compelling proposal narratives and supporting materials.
  • Draft donor-facing materials, including emails and pitch content, in support of the Chief Philanthropy Officer.
  • Research funding opportunities and stay informed of funder priorities, public announcements, and relevant activities.
  • Support assessment of project and program needs to determine alignment with external funding opportunities.
  • Develop and track proposal work plans, checklists, and submission schedules.
  • Coordinate with program, finance, and leadership teams to gather inputs and develop feasible, well-aligned proposals and budgets.
  • Draft fundraising appeals, impact reports, donor stories, and stewardship communications.
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy team and other departments to produce high-quality content.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for assigned communications projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
