About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grant Specialist to perform comprehensive financial administration functions, including expenditure reviews and reimbursement processing. The role requires managing multiple tasks and competing priorities with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Requirements

  • 4 to 5 years of grants experience with at least 1 year of experience terminating grants and negotiating final award budgets.
  • Capability to quickly assimilate new information and become proficient in topics such as Government to Government, Title II, Interagency Awards, and Public International Organizations.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business.
  • Experience in US government grant management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate closely with the Agreement Officer (AO) to resolve issues or conflicts that could affect the timely completion of work.
  • Collaborate with grant recipients and the AO to ensure all award closeout requirements are fully satisfied.
  • Draft and disseminate closeout correspondence to grant recipients, as applicable.
  • Review and process all actions required for the proper closeout of Federal awards in accordance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Process grants and financial actions within USAID’s grants and financial management systems.
  • Request, review, and validate final indirect cost rate agreements, as required.
  • Conduct final reviews of completed awards and required reports, providing recommendations to the AO.
  • Review financial reports submitted by grant recipients to ensure accuracy and compliance; recommend follow-up actions to the AO when necessary.
  • Ensure grant files are complete and accurately documented and track all closeout actions to completion.
  • Monitor and track the de-obligation of Federal funds to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
