Performs highly advanced grant development and coordination work under general supervision of the Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention (HPCDP) Section Director. Performs planning, coordination and management of HPCDP grants and cooperative agreements. Identifies and reviews funding opportunities and announcements to determine program eligibility. Collaborates with internal and external teams to coordinate grant applications. Responsible for coordinating, tracking and reporting of grant-funded activities, and help oversee the development and monitoring of grant-funded budgets. Monitors the implementation, management, evaluation, carry forwards, and closeout of grants and grant budgets. The position requires courteous, professional, and effective communication and interaction with program staff, subcontractors, federal, state, and local officials, and other stakeholders. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position works as a backup for the HPCDP Section Coordinator/Legislative Liaison position. In that capacity it helps the HPCDP section coordinate and continue legislative and agency assignments and operations. To perform these job duties, this position may require working extra hours needed to meet defined deadlines and support the agency’s mission critical reporting requirements.
