About The Position

The Grant & Program Manager supports Northern Maine Community College’s grant development, administration, and project management efforts in alignment with the college’s strategic plan and mission. Working closely with the Dean of Economic & Workforce Development, this position researches grant opportunities, assists with grant writing and submission, manages grant-funded projects, and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, regional, and MCCS requirements. Responsibilities include monitoring grant budgets and expenditures, tracking performance measures and deliverables, preparing required reports and audit documentation, and collaborating with administrators, faculty, staff, and external partners to support successful program implementation. This position also supports strategic planning and institutional research by maintaining accurate grant data, evaluating outcomes, and identifying adjustments needed to ensure grant objectives are achieved. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound independent judgment with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2-4 years’ experience with grant and project management
  • Strong knowledge of grant and program management principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
  • Effective group facilitation and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in program management
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, electronic communications, and social media platforms
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders while maintaining professionalism, sound judgment, integrity, and confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within a community college or higher education setting
  • Knowledge of educational environments, school and college cultures, and adult education
  • Sales, outreach, and/or marketing experience
  • Experience with systems such as Anthology, Lumens, and other student information systems
