About The Position

The Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking a Grant Coordinator/Editor to join its Editorial and Grant Services team. This team plays a vital role in advancing the department’s research mission by increasing extramural funding and supporting academic productivity. Through expert editorial support, project management, and strategic coordination, the team assists faculty in the preparation of grants, manuscripts, abstracts, and other scholarly materials. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, collaborative professional with strong grant management and medical editing experience to contribute to impactful cancer research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3–5 years of grant management experience required, including NIH and/or Department of Defense (DoD) grants
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and submitting complex grant applications
  • Strong project management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Medical or scientific editing experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supporting end-to-end grant activity for established Principal Investigators (PIs), including extensive grant preparation, coordination, and editorial support
  • Identifying peer-reviewed funding opportunities and matching them with suitable applicants; ensuring timely proposal submission and accurate follow-up
  • Coordinating, editing, and submitting federal, foundation, and MSK (internal) grant applications, as well as grant progress reports
  • Assisting with the execution and coordination of industry contracts
  • Editing, formatting, and submitting manuscripts, journal articles, abstracts, and related academic correspondence
  • Coordinating final review and submission of all sponsored research materials to ensure compliance with funding agency and institutional guidelines
  • Working closely with faculty and stakeholders to interpret and explain funding requirements, and to support brainstorming and proposal development activities
  • Providing logistical and editorial support for research conference planning
