About The Position

ContinuSeve is seeking an experienced, hybrid-based Grant Accounting Manager in Chicago, IL, for our Not-for-Profit division. As the Grant Accounting Manager, you will manage the financial oversight of federal, state and other government grants and contracts within the Health and Human Services domain. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with the Illinois GATA framework, accurate vouchering, and timely reporting for grants administered in Chicago and across Illinois.

Requirements

3 + years of experience in grant administration, grant accounting or grants compliance within social services, healthcare, education, government, foundations or other non-profit organizations.
Experience preparing and submitting grant budgets, grant and contract vouchers, reimbursement requests or funder drawdowns in accordance with funder timelines.
Experience monitoring grant expenditures against approved budgets and identifying allowable/unallowable expenses and developing and submitting budget revisions in alignment with spending trends.
Strong organizational, project management, and stakeholder communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and reporting requirements.

Nice To Haves

Experience with HHS, DCFS, DHS, or other federal, state, or local government-funded programs.
Familiarity with Illinois GATA requirements, including registration, reporting requirements and development of reporting (e.g. PFR, close out reports, CFR, CYEFR).
Familiarity with government funding regulations and grant requirements (e.g., 2 CFR 200 or similar funder guidance).
Experience supporting funder reviews, monitoring visits or single audits related to grant compliance.
Experience partnering with program leaders, funding agencies, and external stakeholders as a subject matter expert on grants and contracts.

Responsibilities

Maintain financial records for all federal and state grants, ensuring compliance with GATA, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), and agency-specific requirements.
Prepare and submit vouchers and reimbursement requests in accordance with grantor timelines and formats.
Monitor grant expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets and allowable costs.
Partner with program leadership in the development and review of grant budgets, amendments, and cost allocations.
Serves as primary point of contact for complex grant requirements.
Oversees the preparation and review of grant and contract vouchers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and funder guidelines.
Supports the accounts receivable functions, ensuring proper coding, collections, and reporting.
Supports the development of comprehensive grant and program budgets in collaboration with program and finance leadership.
Provides strategic financial insights and recommendations to clients based on in-depth analysis of grant requirements, funding utilization and grant budgets.
Lead the preparation funder reviews and sudits for assigned clients, coordinating with finance and program leadership to ensure the accuracy of financial documentation.
Ensures client compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including federal, state, and local funding requirements.
Supports monitoring of internal controls to safeguard client and funder assets and prevent fraud.
Evaluates and enhances financial processes and procedures for clients, leveraging technology and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Provides advanced technical accounting support, including guidance on revenue recognition, current and/or pending Accounting Standards Updates (ASU’s), and grant compliance such as but not limited to 2 CFR 200 compliance, as applicable.
Fosters strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders at each client organization, serving as a trusted financial advisor and subject matter expert on grants and contracts.
Addresses complex client concerns and ensures timely and effective resolution.
Monitors and reviews support team deliverables.
Coordinates team support activities and provides mentoring, training, and professional development.
