The Grant Accountant will coordinate the accounting functions related to sponsored programs and all Local, State, and Federal Awards. This role involves proposing policies and procedures for restricted funds, assisting Program Managers with financial reporting and administrative requirements, and monitoring the financial status of programs throughout their lifecycle. The Grant Accountant will also prepare and review audit work papers, manage accounting entries, prepare invoices and billings, and ensure timely submission of financial reports for sponsored programs. Professional development in grant management and OMB circulars is expected, along with assisting in fiscal year-end closing and maintaining grant-related databases and reports. Direct consultation with stakeholders on financial administration and budgeting of grants, including interpretation of federal requirements for allowable costs, is a key responsibility. The role also includes applying indirect costs and attending workshops to stay updated on grant management changes. Other duties as assigned.
