About The Position

The Grant Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate accounting of all grants and contracts of CRRC/APMI. The Grant Accountant provides financial reports to funding partners and performs drawdowns and/or invoicing, and supervises the Grants & Contracts Administrator.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field.
At least three years of related experience.
Experience in grant management, non-profit accounting and federal grant management.
Ability to work independently, submit accurate documentation, and seek guidance when needed.
Ability to work in a team environment, have the capacity to problem solve and work independently and share the enthusiasm of the current staff.
Ability to establish collaborative relationships with staff and provide leadership when appropriate.
Ability to meet heavy deadlines and juggle multiple demands.
Knowledge of federal purchasing and procurement procedures.
Knowledge of 2 CFR Part 215 (A-110), 2 CFR Part 230 (A-122) and OMB Circular A-133, FAR.
Experience organizing, coding, and tracking classifications for projects that utilize multiple grant and donor funds.
Experience building, monitoring, and consistently reporting on budgets.
Highly organized, efficient, solutions- and detail-oriented with excellent administrative and time management skills.
Pro-active and strategic mindset that enjoys improving existing systems collaboratively.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully both independently and within a team environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with partners of different backgrounds and experiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

Administer and ensure the timely and accurate fiscal submission and reporting of federal, state, and other grants in accordance with applicable compliance and regulatory requirements.
Maintain a system for tracking restrictions on contributions.
Review grant expenses and verify compliance with contract and grant requirements.
Work collaboratively to allocate expenses among grants and recommend costing improvements.
Prepare monthly statements of activity for each fund and provide them to principal investigators.
Prepare financial reports for reimbursement requests, quarterly reporting, and annual audits.
Develop reports to meet grant reporting objectives, including SF-425 and federal cash transaction reporting requirements.
Provide financial reports to external funding partners.
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and surveys, as required.
Prepare invoices for contracts in accordance with funder requirements.
Perform grant and contract drawdowns and invoicing using government or other grantor-required systems, including the Payment Management System, ASAP, Grants Online, IPP, and GrantSolutions.
Prepare grant receivable financial information for the Finance Director to post to the accounting records.
Complete the financial closeout process for all grants and contracts.
Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to the Grants & Contracts Administrator.
Provide ongoing coaching, training, feedback, and performance evaluations to support employee development, recognize successes, and promote successful job performance, in coordination with the Finance Director and in accordance with CRRC policies and procedures.
Support effective communication, collaboration, and coordination among the finance, grants, and program teams.
Other duties as assigned.
