About The Position

This role involves polishing materials and parts to correct defects or prepare surfaces for further finishing using hand and power tools. The Granite Polisher will apply pressure to polish, glaze, and buff while ensuring dimensions remain consistent. Quality control is essential, involving inspection, comparison to templates, measurement, and marking defects. The position also requires ensuring proper equipment use, maintaining a clean workspace, assisting coworkers, and adhering to all safety procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, earplugs, waterproof gear, and face masks. Other duties as assigned may be part of the role.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Basic knowledge in math (adding and subtracting measurements)
Basic knowledge in maintenance
Reading measuring tools
Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs
Self-confidence

Nice To Haves

Experience in fabricating Marble, Granite, and Quartz
Experience in Construction, Industrial, and Manufacturing fields
Experience in material polishing
Experience operating a forklift

Responsibilities

Polish material/parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand and power tools
Apply pressure to polish, glaze, and buff while making sure the dimensions stay the same
Verify the quality of finished workpieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions, and marking any defects for possible rework
Ensure proper use of equipment
Teamwork; helping coworkers in other stations if needed
Maintain a clean station
Responsible for wearing all personal protective equipment (safety glasses, earplugs, waterproof gear, face mask, etc.)
Ensure safety procedures are followed
Other duties as assigned
