About The Position

This position is in Cargill's Ag & Trading enterprise, which connects producers and users of grains and oilseeds globally through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. The Grain Origination Representative serves as a critical link between customers and the company's customer-facing strategy, translating market knowledge into competitive grain offerings. The role focuses on identifying and managing customer relationships, competitively positioning commodity offers, conducting market research, monitoring industry trends, and supporting business growth.

Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years of related work experience.
• Possess a valid Canadian Full Class 5 Driver’s Licence in good standing, authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment.
• Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of grain or crop inputs operations and products.
• Experience in customer management and account development.
• Experience using customer relationship management software (i.e. Salesforce).

Responsibilities

• Identify potential customers and handle existing customer relationships.
• Competitively position commodity offers in local markets to efficiently source them through processing facilities, maximizing profitability for both customers and the company.
• Conduct market research and pricing, sales and merchandising activities.
• Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
• Protect, grow, and diversify relationships with targeted customers.
• Support business growth by disseminating favorable information about the organization and its products and services.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
