About The Position

This position is in Cargill's Ag & Trading enterprise, which connects producers and users of grains and oilseeds globally through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. The Grain Origination Representative will, with guidance, buy directly from the farm gate customer or indirectly through various sales channels and ensure flawless execution to create a great customer experience. In this role, you will conduct face to face and remote sales with new and existing customers, assist in evaluating customer needs and suggest appropriate grain marketing solutions and promote our advisory services product line.

Requirements

• Diploma/Certificate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience
• Possess a valid Canadian Full Class 5 Driver’s Licence in good standing, authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment
• Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

Nice To Haves

• Strong interest in agriculture
• CCA certification or ability to get one
• Previous sales experience
• Experience using customer relationship management software

Responsibilities

• Help identify potential customers and handle existing customer relationships.
• Focus on competitively positioning commodity offers in local cash markets to efficiently source them through our processing facilities while focusing on maximizing profitability for both customers and the company.
• With guidance conduct market research and pricing, sales and merchandising activities.
• Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
• Protect, grow and diversify the relationship with targeted customers.
• Support business growth by disseminating favorable information about the organization and its products and services.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned
