About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Grain Grader to join their Agricultural Services (Agri) team in Louisiana. This role involves determining the quality of grain commodities according to USDA grain standards and will require travel to client sites in Destrehan, LA or Convent, LA as needed. The position is a regular part-time role with a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. Intertek Agricultural services is a global leader in the Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification (ATIC) of agricultural commodities, operating at every stage of the product journey to reduce risk for consumers, brands, and organizations worldwide.

Requirements

Ability to grasp basic mathematics concepts and be trainable in the practical aspects of the job.
Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
A positive attitude and the ability for working and communicating with persons of diverse personalities and backgrounds.
Valid Driver’s License with reliable driving record is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous grain grading experience
Current TWIC card holder

Responsibilities

Perform grain grading as per USDA grade factors and/or as per internal or customer specifications.
Attend commodity material movements.
Organize and coordinate tasks to ensure services are rendered, and reports and samples are submitted, in a timely manner.
Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition.
Verify and communicate the results obtained, and make entries into the appropriate media (print or electronic) required to ensure the validity and traceability of the information.
Assist in the training of less experienced employees.
Carry out responsibilities in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy, and exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy.
