About The Position

A hands-on introduction to grain and feed facility operations at Viserion. Over this 10–12-week internship, interns gain exposure to day-to-day facility operations, safety practices, and the fundamentals of the grain and feed industry. The internship offers exposure to both bulk grain handling and feed manufacturing, with the option to focus on one track depending on interests and the host site's operations. This internship is intended as a pipeline into our full Leadership Development Trainee program and future career paths such as Elevator Manager, Superintendent, Site Manager, Operations Manager, Merchandiser, and Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, Operations Management, or a related field
  • No prior full-time work experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-directed, organized, and eager to learn
  • Comfortable adjusting to shifting schedules and multiple demands
  • Demonstrates a strong safety mindset
  • Genuine interest in exploring a long-term career in the grain and feed industry

Nice To Haves

  • Some overnight travel may be required for training or site visits during the internship

Responsibilities

  • Participate in day-to-day facility operations including receiving, storing, transferring, and loading out commodities
  • Learn Viserion safety programs and participate in safety meetings and inspections
  • Shadow maintenance activities alongside skilled trades and site leadership
  • Gain exposure to grain grading, blending, and quality management practices
  • Gain exposure to merchandising fundamentals – bids, contracts, and position management
  • Support facility reporting and gain a basic understanding of how facility decisions affect operations
  • Complete an internship project and end of internship presentation summarizing key learnings
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Gain exposure to day-to-day feed mill operations including receiving, batching, and load-out of finished feed
  • Learn the basics of feed formulation and quality control
