About The Position

Bartlett is hiring a Grain Elevator Operator in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This hands-on role involves receiving, storing, handling, drying, blending, and loading bulk grain commodities such as wheat, corn, and soybeans. Operators monitor stored grain conditions and maintain and clean grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment. Team members are cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.

The position is scheduled for second shift, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed, including weekends. Compensation starts at $23.00 per hour. The role uses various grain-handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English for safety reasons.
• Availability to work overtime and weekends.
• Professional demeanor, including safety-consciousness, quality job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communication.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to work in tight and confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
• Ability to ascend and descend ladders.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, handle, dry, blend, and load grain.
