About The Position

Coordinate grain transactions across the CFE trade territory to ensure accurate records, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and responsive customer service. Serve as a key resource between the grain office, producers, location personnel, and internal departments to support smooth day-to-day grain operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of grain experience or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in grain, merchandising, or another agricultural setting.
  • Familiarity with grain accounting software or comparable ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Process grain settlements for producers and internal shipments accurately and on time.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and current grain contract records.
  • Support day-end grain processes and reconciliation.
  • Assist with filling producer orders and supporting hedging activities.
  • Follow cooperative and grain policies to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the department in achieving annual goals and assist with department planning and updates.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound calls to the grain office.
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries with a positive, professional approach.
  • Work directly with customers to answer grain-related questions and resolve issues.
  • Provide ERP support and guidance to staff on grain-related system questions.
  • Verify shipments for accuracy — including quantity, grade, and quality — against delivery tickets.
  • Support annual state and federal audits and help maintain accurate Daily Position Reports (DPRs).
  • Provide timely responses to questions and concerns from internal teams and other locations.
  • Assist with training and accounting support for location personnel as needed.
  • Enforce the cooperative's credit policy in all grain transactions.
  • Do not extend or authorize credit beyond approved limits or outside of established authorization.
  • Do not extend charges to COD (cash-on-delivery) customers.
  • Follow all cooperative, departmental, and safety policies.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and OSHA regulations.
  • Participate in required safety training and Employee Right-to-Know activities as scheduled.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and support other departments as needed.
  • Maintain a professional image and actively promote teamwork.
  • Promote and participate in the CFE Enterprise approach.
  • Participate in employee feedback processes as requested.
