About The Position

The TCNJ Center for the Arts (CFA) seeks a Student Worker to support the staff, programs, and events hosted in CFA venues. This role helps ensure an enriching experience for student staff members as well as operational efficiency within the CFA. The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) is a highly selective institution that is consistently recognized as one of the top comprehensive colleges in the nation. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Enrollment in a Graduate Degree program at The College of New Jersey
  • Demonstrated commitment to student and community development
  • Experience with working with students from diverse backgrounds, and/or demonstrated commitment to diversity
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with other staff and faculty
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, organization, and administrative skills
  • Ability to think critically, problem solve, and make sound decisions
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize projects
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends

  • Interest in arts administration, nonprofit management, communications, and event production preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement student staff recognition program for combined TCNJ Center for the Arts teams, covering Audience Services, Theater Operations, and Concert Hall Operations, which will take place throughout the academic year and culminate in a unified student recognition event at the end of the academic year.
  • Manage student staff scheduling for TCNJ Center for the Arts student employee teams by overseeing the use of When I Work, a collaborative scheduling software.
  • Assist in the building and maintenance of digital archives of performances in CFA venues to preserve the diverse artistic offerings therein.
  • Provide specialized administrative support for musical instrument distribution and Inventory to support the Department of Music and its ensembles, which bolster the artistic culture and community of TCNJ.
  • Build a post-event patron survey to capture the full audience experience. Collect, manage, and analyze data from this survey to inform recommendations on improving the audience experience in CFA venues.
  • Send Know-Before-You-Go patron information emails before every ticketed CFA event, and send Thank You emails after every ticketed CFA event to help gather patron feedback more regularly to improve retention.
  • Update event information and descriptions on ticketing platform and public calendars with specific program information to demonstrate the diversity of programming, thereby increasing online sales and event attendance.
  • Edit performance programs for the Department of Music, thereby ensuring patrons have clear, aesthetically pleasing programs upon arrival to best appreciate the art being presented.
  • Other duties as assigned.
