Worley is seeking a motivated and technically curious Graduate Civil / Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join their Civil & Structural Engineering team in either Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers who are looking to develop a strong technical foundation in civil and structural engineering within a multi-disciplinary EPC/EPCM environment. Working under the guidance of experienced Civil and Structural Engineers and technical leads, the Graduate Civil / Structural Engineer-in-Training will support the delivery of civil and structural engineering work across a broad range of industrial projects. This role provides exposure to structural design, foundations, steel and concrete structures, analysis, design standards, construction support, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
Registered (or eligible for registration) as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with APEGA.
New graduate or early career experience in civil, structural, or related engineering fields.
Strong foundational engineering knowledge with a demonstrated interest in civil and structural engineering.
Familiarity with basic structural analysis and design concepts for steel and concrete structures.
Proficiency with standard office and engineering tools (e.g., Microsoft Office); exposure to structural analysis and drafting tools is considered an asset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-based, multi-disciplinary project environment.
High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality, accurate, and timely work.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic project environment.
Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to industrial, energy, mining, or infrastructure projects is considered an asset.
Exposure to structural analysis and drafting tools is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Support the delivery of civil and structural engineering scope across assigned projects in accordance with Worley standards, client requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.
Assist with basic structural analysis and design calculations for steel and concrete structures, foundations, equipment supports, and building structures.
Support the preparation and development of design deliverables including calculations, technical reports, drawings, and engineering documentation.
Assist with the development and maintenance of material take-offs, specifications, and data sheets.
Support engineering input to material requisitions and participate in technical bid evaluations as required.
Interface with designers, project engineers, and other engineering disciplines to support coordinated, integrated project delivery.
Develop foundational knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., CSA, AISC, ACI, NBCC) under the mentorship of senior engineers.
Provide support during construction and commissioning phases, including responding to technical queries and reviewing field changes as directed.
Contribute to quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives within the civil and structural discipline.
Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and internal coordination activities as required.
Operate effectively within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.
