About The Position

The Graduate Nursing Clinical Practicum Site Coordinator provides operational oversight for graduate nursing clinical experiences, ensuring high-quality practicum placements, regulatory compliance, and strong healthcare partnerships. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing - Specialty Nurse Practitioner with board certification required.
  • Holds current RN license to practice in Kansas, or compact license.
  • APRN certification in state of practice.
  • Higher education teaching experience with experience teaching and leading at the graduate level required.
  • Familiarity with CCNE accreditation standards.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Ability to travel to develop and facilitate hospital partners, clinical sites, and/or student recruitment.

  • Excellent computer-based organization skills.
  • Excellent public relations skills using proper etiquette, both electronic and interpersonally.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned Doctorate (DNP, PhD, EdD) preferred
  • Prior online teaching experience preferred
  • Familiarity with documentation and compliance systems and working with multiple state boards of nursing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Find and coordinate clinical practicum preceptor experiences for graduate nursing students.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain clinical placement quality and integrity.
  • Secure initial clinical locations and hospital partners.
  • Coordinate with Graduate Program Director or Division Chair to determine the number of student placements needed at each semester, level, and type of experience needed (health assessment, FNP. PMHNP.
  • Initiate and maintain affiliation agreements.
  • Participate in new student orientation to communicate clinical requirements.
  • Monitor clinical documentation and compliance system for completion.
  • Ensure standardization of specific NP specialty didactic and clinical courses.
  • Work closely with the MSN Program Director and Chair of the Division to ensure the program is in alignment with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF), and state board regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Assist in preparation and submission of required reports and documentation for accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Primary contact for clinical questions and assessing appropriateness for NP clinical sites.
  • Notify students who are not in compliance with necessary requirements for clinical placement promptly.
  • Review applicants and participate in recruitment activities.
  • Teach, mentor, and participate in departmental, university, and professional activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare organizations, alumni, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the program at professional conferences, meetings, and community events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
