A Graduate Nurse is a nurse who has graduated from an approved program by the State Board of Nursing, but has not yet completed the examination for licensure. This role is responsible for the complete nursing care of a group of patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Graduate Nurse will be enrolled in a twelve-month Nurse Residency Program, which includes orientation, interactive classroom education, and independent self-directed learning. The program also offers pairing with a nurse mentor for continued one-on-one support, designed to assist newly licensed nurses in their transition from student to clinical practitioner.
