About The Position

This position is for a Graduate Nurse looking to start their career path in an Acute Care unit with the goal of transitioning to the Neonatal ICU (NICU) at UPMC Magee. The role provides a strong foundation in basic nursing knowledge and skills, with opportunities for advancement into specialized units. Successful candidates will gain experience in one of the specified Acute Care departments, with preferential transfer to the NICU based on performance. UPMC Magee is a Magnet-designated facility that values employee growth and development, offering a robust career ladder for bedside nursing.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • No prior experience required
  • ASN, BSN, MSN all welcome

Nice To Haves

  • UPMC approved national certification preferred
