Graduate Nurse - Acute Cardiac Unit
About The Position
The licensed Registered Nurse (RN) plans & provides professional nursing services & standards of practice in accordance with level of experience & education, state board of nursing & established policies & procedures. The RN integrates the art, science, leadership & knowledge of the nursing clinical practice through relationship-centered, compassionate, ethical & respectful direct / indirect healthcare services. This 30-bed unit provides care to patients with primary cardiac diagnoses, as well as to medical patients that require cardiac telemetry monitoring. 4 South Acute/Cardiac is staffed by registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, health unit coordinators, and monitor technicians. Staff receive support from clinical educators and advanced practice nurses.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). Note, if the BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).
- Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
- Competency in electronic patient management systems.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or MSN preferred
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting highly preferred.
- Will take a graduate nurse and train.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
- Ability to communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
- Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
- Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
- Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
- Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
- Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
