The Texas Health Graduate Nurse Residency Program is a comprehensive, evidence-based 15-month onboarding program designed for new graduate Registered Nurses. The program, with its next cohort beginning on July 13, 2026, offers a unique opportunity to gain experience, judgment, skills, and confidence necessary for complex hospital patient care. It includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing/self-care sessions, and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents will participate in learning on their personally selected home units, such as Mom/Baby, and will also rotate/cross-train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience. The program is located at Texas Health Frisco, a 73-bed full-service facility in Frisco, Texas, which is a collaboration between Texas Health Resources and UT Southwestern Medical Center. Texas Health Frisco offers surgical, imaging, women and children’s services, a 24-hour emergency department, a neonatal intensive care unit level II, orthopedics, Med-Surg, and critical care. UT Southwestern plans to bring specialties like neurosciences, orthopedic surgery, oncology, ENT, and pediatric subspecialties to the campus.
