Integrated into a Hospital’s education structure, the Texas Health Graduate Nurse Residency Program includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing/self-care sessions and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents not only participate in the learning experience on their personally selected home units, but they also rotate/cross train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience vital to the complex patient care. The Texas Health Nurse Residency Program is a comprehensive, evidence based on-boarding program with a 15-month employment commitment that offers new graduate nurses an exciting opportunity to gain the experience, judgment, skills and confidence to successfully navigate the complexity of hospital life. Work location: Texas Health Southwest: 6100 Harris Pkwy, Fort Worth, TX 76132. Work environment: Surgery. Work hours: Upon completion of the Residency, anticipated hours will be full-time, 40 hrs., (5)-8-hour shifts; rotating weekends, holidays, and on call shifts required. THSW Surgery is an acute care operating room environment. It is equipment with 14 operating suites and is staffed 24/7 365 days per year. The department is staffed to support the hospital’s level 3 Trauma designation. Specialties include orthopedics, ortho-spine, podiatry, plastics, vascular, general surgery, gynecology, and urology. The department has 4 DaVinci robots for general, gynecology, and urology services.
