Graduate Nurse, Emergency Room - Allegheny General Hospital
About The Position
Assists, conducts triage and treats critically ill patients in this level one Trauma Center ED. Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population for the purpose of providing care based upon enactment of the nursing process. The Emergency Department is a 35-bed unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center. As a quaternary care facility, AGH provides care to a highly complex patient population. The department is currently undergoing expansion and renovation with a projected completion date of November 2027, promising a brand new 48 bed ED equipped with cutting-edge technology. In 2024, the ED served over 45,000 patients, averaging approximately 125 patients per day.
Requirements
- Minimum one year recent Emergency Room or Pre- Hospital experience
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- CPR certification
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
- Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
- Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, including EMS, for the plan of care from presentation through disposition.
