About The Position

Licensed new graduate nurse from an accredited nursing program who actively participates in SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. Provides professional nursing care to patients, which includes assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and monitoring tasks assigned to other members of the care team in accordance with professional nursing standards. Responsible for the delivery of age appropriate care for assigned patients with a wide variety of medical conditions.

Requirements

  • RN licensure in the State of Missouri, or new graduate of accredited school of nursing and must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Issued by Compact State
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive nursing assessment/reassessment.
  • Establishes, coordinates and evaluates a plan of care based on analysis of assessment data, patient diagnosis, lab data, tests, procedures, physician orders, protocols and standards of care and other information as relevant.
  • Provides and documents nursing interventions based on assessed patient needs, plan of care, and changes in patient status.
  • Documents and or communicates nursing care and or changes in patient condition.
  • Provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own professional practice.
  • Ability to relate to coworkers in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Safety/Infection Control: Performs job in accordance with safety and infection control policies.
  • Service: Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous and respectful manner.
