About The Position
ECU Libraries: Manuscripts and Digital Curation is currently seeking several Student Assistants. This position will assist with a repository survey by conducting a thorough review of collections and their contents under the supervision of the Manuscripts Curator. The position will also aid the Manuscripts & Digital Curation unit with processing collections, identifying collection materials that could be used for outreach and promotional efforts, and supporting reference service.
Requirements
- Must be a current graduate student at ECU
Responsibilities
- Physically assessing collection material and inputting data into appropriate forms and spreadsheets
- Organizing archival material
- Writing inventories for archival material
- Identifying discrepancies between collection content and the existing collection guides
- Managing intellectual content through archival management software
- Staffing the Special Collections public service desks
- Other tasks as assigned
