About The Position

Ulteig is seeking talented and motivated candidates for a Graduate Civil Engineer role working out of our Denver, CO, Fargo, ND, or St. Paul, MN office, remote locations may also be considered, supporting renewable development projects. The Graduate Civil Engineer will be responsible for performing routine engineering tasks, and investigations or observations under supervision on wind and solar renewable energy projects across the country. Candidates should be self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must also be able to work in a team environment. We are looking for candidates that are committed to client satisfaction, and adhere strictly to client-driven standards, schedules, budgets, and passionate about the renewable energy industry.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
EIT certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
Ability to apply standard engineering principles and practices
Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
Must have authorization to work permanently in the US

Nice To Haves

Prior engineering internship experience preferred
additional software knowledge depending on specialization
Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD experience desired

Responsibilities

Assist in the development of construction plans and specifications of utility scale wind, solar and/or BESS renewable projects
Works closely with other engineering technicians and experienced engineers on multiple projects as assigned
Typical civil design tasks including, design calculation reports, grading and erosion control plans, construction details, and stormwater management design
Design and production in AutoCAD Civil 3D software
Prepare project quantity take-offs and/or cost estimates
Support and develop project permit applications
Technically involved with the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigation or observations.
Work with project discipline leads to perform necessary design calculations, sketches, plan preparation as assigned
Provide technical comparisons and similar technical work within the assigned market
