About The Position

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented student workers to assist with organizing and standardizing faculty curriculum vitae (CVs). This role provides an opportunity to gain experience in data standardization, data entry, and data management while utilizing AI tools. Students will review CVs, extract and process data, ensure accuracy and consistency, and validate data. This role requires strong attention to detail, independence, and a willingness to learn.

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a UT Austin graduate student.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Computer proficiency (e.g., word processing and spreadsheets).
  • Experience using various AI tools and working with custom prompts.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Consistent and reliable work ethic.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with technology, particularly AI tools.
  • Familiarity with academic CVs.
  • Research experience or knowledge a plus.
  • Familiarity with working with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and prompt engineering.
  • Understanding of software development process and agile delivery method.
  • Understand structured data such as JSON.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the faculty affairs team and Information Technology Project Manager.
  • Receive directed training on medical faculty CVs, data entry standards, CV normalization application, and AI Tools.
  • Share observations and insights to refine workflows and tools.
  • Analyze and support migration of faculty CVs to identify and extract information.
  • Standardize CV data into a consistent format based on established guidelines.
  • Work with AI tools to streamline data processing and normalization.
  • Follow prompts and workflows or contribute to improving prompts to enhance accuracy.
  • Validate processed data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Identify and address any inconsistencies or errors with faculty CVs and the CV normalization application and provide feedback to enhance user experience.
  • Serve as the single point of contact (POC) for the student team; coordinate meetings, collect general questions, consolidate issues, and route them to the manager for resolution.
  • Maintain an issue/decision log (e.g., Smartsheet/Sheets), track items to closure, and ensure consistent documentation.
  • Monitor and report progress against weekly targets and project milestones.
