About The Position

The WSPH Office of Career Services Graduate Assistant will support career advising, programming, and reporting in the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. The Graduate Assistant will work between 10-15 hours per week, and hours are flexible around class time. This is a paid position. While this is a support role, Career Services is also looking for a student who could contribute to creative ideas for student programming based on their own experiences surrounding career and professional support.

Requirements

  • Graduate student in the Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (open to both residential and online students).
  • Maintain professionalism and communication
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Creatively minded
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and alumni information
  • Empathy and a mindset of inclusivity
  • Active enrollment as a graduate student at Tulane University

Nice To Haves

  • Work study preferred.
  • Experience navigating the Handshake Career Management platform as a student is preferred
  • A Federal Work Study Award (potentially)

Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for First Destination data sourcing/analysis and employer tracking
  • Finding and inputting graduate outcomes for recently graduated students
  • Finding and posting relevant public health job and practicum opportunities in Handshake, Tulane’s Career Management Platform
  • Supporting event flyer creation in Canva and social media management when needed
  • Peer Advising for resume/cover letter support when needed
