About The Position

Midland University, a private liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska, is seeking a Graduate Assistant - Men's and Women's Tennis Coach. This position is part of the graduate assistant structure and requires admission to one of the University's Master's programs: Master of Education, Master of Science Learning and Talent Development, Master of Science and Sports Administration and Leadership, or Master of Business Administration. The successful candidate will assist in various aspects of the tennis program, including coaching, administration, practice preparation, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. This role offers tuition remission, a potential campus meal plan, and a monthly stipend.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Must meet eligibility for Midland University Graduate Program
  • Valid CDL License (or can obtain one shortly after starting in this role)
  • Previous tennis coaching experience
  • Ability to effectively coordinate recruiting events
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, such as a working understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Representing Midland University
  • Assisting the head coach with the administration and leadership of the tennis program
  • Providing coaching and instruction during training and practice activities

  • Directing strength and conditioning activities during the season and off-season
  • Video analysis
  • Scheduling
  • Equipment management
  • Running camps and clinics
  • Helping to ensure team compliance with all NAIA and institutional rules and regulations
