About The Position

This position is responsible for providing support to the general administrative operations of the Spirit Fan Shop/mail room. Additionally, the Graduate Assistant assists the Manager of Auxiliary Services with assigned priorities and projects. This role may require evening and weekend work. The Graduate Assistant will be granted a tuition waiver (18 credit hours per year) for one of Ottawa University's graduate programs, a partial meal allowance, and a bi-weekly living stipend paid over 12 months. Renewals for a second year are based on academic performance and quality execution of assigned duties. Appointments are generally made to students who have shown superior aptitude in their field of study as an undergraduate and who appear likely to render high quality service to the University through their appointment and service activities. All Graduate Assistants must be eligible to work in the United States and present proper documentation to Human Resources prior to beginning their assistantship. International candidates are only eligible to pursue the on-campus MBA degree and must secure an F1 student visa and meet international admissions criteria.

Requirements

  • Earned bachelor's degree.
  • Must be accepted and enrolled in an Ottawa University graduate program.
  • Completed online admissions application.
  • REQUIRED application fee.
  • Submission of official undergraduate transcripts (3.0 GPA – minimum requirement).
  • Submission of a personal statement regarding career goals and three professional references.
  • Other items as identified by the specific academic program.
  • Eligible to work in the United States and present the proper documentation to the Human Resources Department prior to beginning their graduate assistantship.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to Manager with the organization of the store and its' inventory.
  • Assists Manager with processes related to the employment, onboarding and management of student workers.
  • Responsible for assigned responsibilities related to Fan Shop inventory, social media, marketing & promotions, and website sales.
  • Provides support and assistance to special events operations provided through Auxiliary Services including all facility rentals.
