About The Position

Associated Students Inc., CSUF provides student development opportunities through leadership, volunteer, and employment experiences. In addition, the Associated Students provides campus community members with important social, cultural, and recreational opportunities, as well as, a wide range of programs and services. Under the direction of the Director of Student Programs and Engagement and the Student Programming Coordinators, the Graduate Assistant provides support to the Coordinators in advising student leaders as they conceive, implement and evaluate a variety of regular weekly events and meetings.

Requirements

  • B.S/B.A. degree required
  • Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing
  • Must be enrolled/enrolling in a graduate degree program focusing on higher education or student affairs
  • Some experience in college student activities is preferred
  • Must complete: Bloodborne Pathogens, Campus Health and Safety Requirements, CSU’S Discrimination Harassment Prevention Program, Data Security and FERPA, Gender Equity and Title IX, Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Mandated Reporter, Live Scan Fingerprints, TB Testing within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • As directed, co-advises student leaders on developing, facilitating, and evaluating programs and events
  • Attends and monitors ASI events to ensure safety and to mitigate risk
  • As directed, facilitate student leadership training and development for student leaders throughout the year
  • Apply program policies and procedures; Review financial paperwork and proposals
  • Appropriately apply ASI and University policies and procedures
  • Facilitate and encourage cross-collaboration among ASI programming groups
  • As directed, attend weekly group meetings and meet individually with student leaders to monitor progress of events and to provide guidance
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of daily camp activities and programs for Camp Titan
  • Supervise and engage camp participants while maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. and University departments
  • Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.
  • Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately
