About The Position

Performs routine scientific research utilizing fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in a particular field of specialization. This role involves planning, coordinating, and conducting scientific research that requires judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard scientific techniques. The assistant will design and perform experiments and data collection to ensure data integrity, quality control, and protocol compliance. Responsibilities also include collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, and preparing statistical and narrative reports and/or graphs. The role requires operating equipment and performing new research procedures. The duties listed are general and may change at management's discretion.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in graduate school at UMMC.
• Knowledge of scientific approach and methodologies.
• Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
• Knowledge of scientific research principles, practices, and protocols.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to design, organize and coordinate scientific research projects.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
• Ability to develop and follow research methodology and protocol.
• Ability to comply with safety, environmental, and infections control standards and practices.
