About The Position

This position serves to assist the Head Coach in various aspects of the Men's Wrestling program, with a primary focus on recruiting, organizing and running practices, fundraising, and promotional activities. The successful candidate will be a positive role model for student-athletes, exhibiting strong leadership and fostering leadership development within the team. Responsibilities also include monitoring and assisting student-athletes with academic success and effectively recruiting quality student-athletes. The role requires assisting the head coach with any and all aspects of the program. Please note that this position description is not exhaustive and duties may change at any time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Acceptance into the Lakeland University graduate school program.
  • Experience in the sport of wrestling.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility and related functions.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize office workflow and make effective administrative decisions to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to tactfully and effectively communicate (written and verbal) with a variety of individuals.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) or similar products.
  • Demonstrates organizational ability, and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach with recruiting quality student-athletes.
