About The Position

The Graduate Assistant (GA) - Marketing & Theatre Production in the School of Music is a remote position responsible for researching, compiling data, and then integrating that data into a departmental marketing process for the purposes of effectively promoting events, building an audience, increasing our reach in the community, and student recruitment. Additionally, the GA will serve as the assistant to the Theatre Director to help with administrative tasks related to theatre. We believe teamwork is necessary for organizational success, and so our team fosters innovation, creativity, and problem solving. As such, candidates must understand, believe in, and actively contribute to accomplishing the mission and vision of the School of Music, which is to passionately pursue excellence to the glory of God. The ideal candidate will put their faith and classroom learning experience in action through creating and carrying out a marketing plan for the School of Music and its events. The position has an expected time commitment of an average of 20 hours per week, including office hours, meetings, and event attendance. Some evenings (depending on schedule) and weekend hours will be necessary. The GA must understand the dynamics of a small university setting and be a committed member of the CCU School of Music.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required with acceptance into a CCU graduate program.
  • Awareness of technical skills associated with content creation.
  • Must reside and work legally in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Amplify School of Music brand recognition through a comprehensive and cohesive marketing campaign, and do so with wise stewardship of funds allocated to this endeavor.
  • Brainstorm, formulate, and produce marketing campaigns for large initiatives within the school, utilizing assessment data for the enhancement of the campaigns.
  • Complete creative content requests through the CCU Communications work order system as needed.
  • Meet with the Dean and/or the Dean’s Assistant of the School of Music weekly for direction and oversight, and to discuss goals and progress.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Track theatre prospective student inquiries, send initial email, answer any follow up questions, and assist in faculty communications.
  • Manage theatre budgets. Reconcile all credit cards for the Theatre Faculty.
  • Maintain and organize theatre storage and workshop spaces to ensure cleanliness, efficiency, and safe accessibility.
  • Provide direct supervision and training to Theatre Work-Study staff, ensuring effective performance and adherence to departmental standards.
  • Serve as Production Manager for all theatre productions.
  • Secure production rights and manage script distribution and returns.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise student crew, work-study staff, and pit musicians.
  • Coordinate all production logistics, including truck/U-Haul rentals, load-in/load-out, and equipment (lifts, microphones, percussion).
  • Manage vendor relationships and rentals, including photography, videography (as permitted), and performance equipment.
  • Oversee performance operations, including comp ticket distribution and venue booking (e.g., Lakewood Cultural Center).
  • Handle financial administration, including processing stipends and production-related expenses.
  • Maintain theatre supplies and inventory (e.g., tape, materials) and ensure workshop readiness.
  • Coordinate administrative and scheduling needs, including contractor access (IDs, keys, parking), absence reporting, and special campus arrangements.

Benefits

  • Compensation includes a monthly stipend of $15.16 per hour and tuition waiver for completion of a master's degree through Colorado Christian University's College of Adult and Graduate Studies.
  • The recipient is responsible for student fees each semester.
