About The Position

The Graduate Assistant for Communications provides marketing and communication support for digital and print media, with a primary focus on expanding the Office of Admissions' social media presence. This role involves developing and maintaining a social media presence and editorial calendar, creating engaging content through brainstorming, filming, and editing, and collaborating with campus partners. The assistant will also draw insights from marketing analytics to optimize engagement and support copywriting, photography, and design efforts for other digital and print media as needed. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Must provide proof of acceptance and be enrolled in a UAF graduate program through the Graduate School.
  • Enrolled in Marketing, Communications, English, Higher Education, or related graduate program.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite and other software programs.
  • Ability to work 20 hours per week with regular, and non-disruptive attendance.

  • Experience managing professional social media accounts.

  • Copywriting and/or editing experience.
  • Photography, videography, and/or digital design software experience.
