About The Position

Ottawa University, established in 1865, is seeking a Graduate Assistant Coach to assist with the day-to-day management of the athletic team. This role requires a commitment to Christian higher education and a servant leadership style. The position involves some night and weekend work. The Graduate Assistant Coach will play a key role in recruiting, training, and coaching student-athletes, ensuring their academic progress, and contributing to the advancement of the program through fundraising and community engagement. Adherence to NAIA rules and regulations, including the Champions of Character 5 core values, is essential. The role also emphasizes providing Christ-centered leadership and fostering campus involvement.

Requirements

• Must be accepted and enrolled in an Ottawa University graduate program
• Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0
• Submission of a personal statement regarding career goals
• Submission of three professional references
• Eligible to work in the United States and present proper documentation
• Completed online admissions application
• Submission of official undergraduate transcripts
• Cover letter and resume

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train and coach members of the athletic program
• Recruit, retain and graduate student-athletes who contribute to the success of the program and vibrancy of campus life
• Fund and friend raising for the advancement of the program
• Provide oversight of student-athletes academic progress toward degree completion
• Assist with any and all administrative duties as assigned
• Insure adherence to the NAIA and rules and regulations including the NAIA Champions of Character 5 core values
• Provide leadership for campus involvement and community service
• Provide Christ-centered leadership and direction for the program
• Other duties as assigned
