About The Position

The Graduate Assistant (GA) in the Education Department provides instructional, administrative, and research support to faculty while gaining professional experience aligned with their academic program. This part-time position typically requires 10–20 hours per week with a flexible schedule based on departmental needs and the student’s course load. This position offers practical experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, helping prepare graduate students for careers in education, counseling, or related fields while supporting the mission and operations of the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree completed
  • Admission and enrollment in a graduate program within Education or a related field
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Basic proficiency in office and educational technology tools
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty with course preparation, grading, and maintaining course materials in learning management systems
  • Provide tutoring and academic support to undergraduate students, including leading review sessions or study groups
  • Support research activities such as literature reviews, data entry, and basic analysis
  • Assist with program coordination, including scheduling, recordkeeping, and accreditation-related documentation
  • Help plan and support departmental events, workshops, and recruitment activities
  • Respond to routine student inquiries and maintain professional communication
