The primary purpose of the Graduate Assistant (GA) position is to provide essential support for departmental teaching, research, and administrative operations. It serves the dual purpose of advancing the Department’s mission while providing the GA with practical, supervised experience in clinical, instructional, administrative, or research tasks. This role is integral to developing GA’s professional competencies as a future practitioner, bridging academic training with hands-on departmental responsibilities. This position is Hybrid (In-Person/Remote). This is a hybrid, multitasking, knowledge-based role that combines apprentice- and employee-professional level tasks with student identities. The GA is simultaneously a learner receiving graduate training, a staff support member providing a range of operational assistance, and a graduate student completing their own degree. Work is highly interactive, variable, and cyclical, peaking during midterms/finals, admissions cycles, and accreditation deadlines.
