About The Position

The Graduate Assistant (GA) will support the Campus Ministries department by assisting the Chapel and Administrative Coordinator in planning and coordinating various services and events. This role involves managing hospitality, coordinating student volunteers, overseeing service logistics, and administrative tasks. The GA will also gain experience in supervising interns and student teams, managing supplies, and coordinating departmental meetings and special events. Additionally, the position offers opportunities for public speaking, marketing oversight, and connecting with ministry partners. The GA is expected to transition into a full-time role within the university after their term.

Requirements

  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Must be comfortable in leadership roles.
  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work well in a team, even in high-pressure situations.
  • Must have a flexible, team-oriented, and servant-hearted spirit.
  • Must be capable of leading large student teams.
  • Must be teachable, eager to learn, and highly flexible and adaptable.
  • Must be available and willing to transition into a full-time role with the University within the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Must be passionate about college ministry and student discipleship.
  • Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have interest and demonstrated skill in administrative work and an interest in event planning.
  • Must be experienced with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PPT, etc.) or open to training.
  • Comfort and experience working with monetary calculations is required.
  • A high degree of emotional and spiritual maturity when dealing with confidential matters.
  • Must possess organizational skills and be able to manage multiple tasks and details.
  • Must be resourceful and take initiative in problem-solving.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision.

  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to work evenings (Thursday evenings weekly, plus occasional other evenings/weekends for events throughout the year).

  • Must have creative interest and skill, with some level of comfort or experience working with digital marketing platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated interest and experience with mentorship is a plus.
  • Experience working with budget planning and tracking is a plus.
  • Experience with church event management software (Planning Center and ProPresenter) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and coordinating Chapel and UnChapel services through hospitality coordination.
  • Assist with coordinating student volunteer teams and service logistics.
  • Attend Chapel or UnChapel services weekly, and both on an equal and alternating basis.
  • Shadow and assist the Chapel & Admin Coordinator in supervising department interns and student volunteer teams.
  • Attend weekly intern meetings.
  • Assist with supply ordering and coordination.
  • Assist with coordinating other departmental training meetings and special Campus Ministries events.
  • Shadow the Chapel & Admin Coordinator in completing administrative tasks.
  • Attend meetings with other Regent or external partners as assigned with the Chapel and Admin Coordinator for shadowing purposes.
  • Attend supervisory checkpoint meetings with the Chapel and Admin Coordinator and the Director of Campus Ministries.
  • Engage in public speaking/ministry opportunities as offered.
  • Assist in providing oversight for Campus Ministries marketing.
  • Shadow the Chapel and Admin Coordinator in connecting with ministry partners.
