About The Position

Associated Students Inc., CSUF provides student development opportunities through leadership, volunteer, and employment experiences. In addition, the Associated Students provides campus community members with important social, cultural, and recreational opportunities, as well as, a wide range of programs and services. Under general supervision, the Graduate Accounting Assistant will support the accounting team and staff. The graduate assistant will be supporting general clerical duties and financial functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton Graduate Student in good academic standing.
  • Advanced Excel skills - required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & PowerPoint)- required

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service and Prior office experience – preferred

Responsibilities

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (for example VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, creating and updating PivotTable)
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Assist with reconciliation and financial analysis.
  • Support preparation of quarterly reports and budgeting activities.
  • Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies and assist with resolution.
  • Perform front office duties including: answering telephones, taking and relaying messages, distributing mail, processing inquiries.
  • Provide courteous, professional customer service.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the department policies and procedures.
  • Assist with creating and reviewing invoices and weekly check processing cycle.
  • Conduct Ad Hoc projects in support of the accounting team.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with various ASI and University departments
  • Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.
  • Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately
