Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the heavy civil and/or highway industry as a Grade/Pipe Foreman is essential.
  • Must be well-organized.
  • Capable of understanding work directions.
  • Communicate effectively with both management and crew members.
  • Experience in scheduling materials and employees for projects is critical.
  • Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to uphold safety standards.
  • Physical stamina is necessary, as the role requires standing for long periods, bending, and lifting up to 90 pounds.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GPS technology is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Erosion Control, Trenching/Excavation Competent Person Training, and Work Zone Safety Supervisor is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise grade and pipe crew members, fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Train crew members on operational protocols and safety measures.
  • Meticulously maintain records of crew time, materials used, and equipment utilization on a daily basis.
  • Strategically sequence pipe installations to minimize interference with ongoing project activities and the public.
  • Effectively communicate with other foremen, subcontractors, and DOT personnel.
  • Read plans and determine project needs.
  • Operate all pipe laying equipment in compliance with company procedures.
  • Oversee checks to ensure proper functionality of equipment.
  • Manage preventative maintenance, oversee regular cleaning, and assist with minor repairs of equipment.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure a secure work environment for everyone involved.
