About The Position

Blythe Development is a licensed general contractor specializing in site work, road construction, and golf course construction in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Founded in 1989, the company has grown to employ over 900 people and is now 100% Employee Owned. Blythe Development's operations encompass a wide range of services including clearing, grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, waterline, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete paving, retaining walls, culverts, bridges, stone base, and asphalt paving. They pride themselves on self-performing 80% of site groundwork, offering greater control than competitors. The foreman will supervise field operations of a grading crew and also engage in the trade work performed by the crew. The company is looking for full crews, including operators and laborers, for this role.

Requirements

• Experience operating relevant heavy equipment.
• 5+ years, SCDOT, commercial and/or residential grading experience.
• 3+ years supervisory experience.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50+ lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervises field operations of a grading crew.
• Engages in the trade work performed by the crew.
• Directly supervises grading crew, reporting to Superintendent.
• Operates and supervises the operation of heavy equipment on project sites.
• Reads, understands, and interprets drawings and specifications.
• Provides reports on time and materials.
• Ensures all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
• Use of heavy equipment and supervision of the use of heavy equipment.
• Flexibility with schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes.
