About The Position

Aviagen is seeking a safety-focused, highly experienced professional to fill our open Grader Supervisor role at the GP Egg Depot in Elkmont, AL. This role involves supervising and scheduling the grader team, managing grader operations, verifying egg counts, pulling eggs for customer orders, and maintaining associated paperwork. The supervisor will ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders, communicate effectively with team members and management, and learn specific customer criteria for export orders. A key responsibility includes achieving and monitoring TSA certification and processes, preparing necessary TSA documents, and scheduling certified TSA employees. The role also entails assigning daily tasks, reviewing operational data, making necessary corrections, and maintaining knowledge of flock status and egg inventory. Additionally, the supervisor will be involved in programming grading machinery, managing physical egg inventory, completing export order labels, advising drivers, and supporting the night shift operations. Employee concerns and work instruction updates/training are also part of the role, along with assisting with safety checks and program responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and scheduling the grader team.
  • Schedule grader operations.
  • Verify egg counts picked up from farms.
  • Pull eggs for specific customer orders.
  • Perform and maintain all paperwork associated with the egg grader.
  • Pull together eggs for customer orders and prepare eggs for shipping, ensuring the orders are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Communicate with grader employees to accomplish completing customer orders.
  • Keeping the manager updated regarding the progress of each order throughout the day.
  • Speak with the manager before processing HE orders about which orders take priority for each day.
  • Communicating with grader employees about each order requirement.
  • Learn each customer’s criteria for customer export orders.
  • Achieve TSA certification and monitor TSA processes during grading.
  • Determine which TSA employees are certified and schedule them during TSA orders.
  • Prepare and complete all TSA documents required to ship TSA orders.
  • Determine employees’ jobs for each day, and then write them on the daily task board.
  • Review take-out sheets and monitor orders throughout the day.
  • Make corrections to orders and processes during operation.
  • Know and memorize the flock status report.
  • Keep up with hatch week and determine what the age spread being processed is for the orders.
  • Know Foundation criteria for customer orders.
  • Learn the process for writing up export orders for customers.
  • Make corrections to orders if counting errors are caught while orders are processed.
  • Make sure all orders and deadlines are met accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Make sure all trucks have an NPIP before leaving the Depot if they are crossing state lines.
  • Hold meetings with hourly employees concerning particular things going on around the Depot.
  • Answer all RCAs for QA concerning the depot grader.
  • Write up orders for the Sanovo night and day crew to weigh.
  • Program the Sanovo machine for specific breed egg weights.
  • Program the Sanovo machine for export egg printing.
  • Check the physical egg inventory twice a week (Tuesday/Friday).
  • Make sure all egg inventory records are accurate and make corrections to mistakes caught by physical inventory.
  • Learn to complete the labels for export customer orders.
  • Advise all export order contact drivers when they arrive at the Depot.
  • Supply the night shift with eggs to weigh and things to accomplish for the night.
  • Handle employee concerns with the manager.
  • Give work instruction updates and work instruction training to hourly employees.
  • Helping with safety checks and safety program responsibilities.
