About The Position

The Institute of Islamic Studies is recruiting Graders for the Arabic language courses for the fall 2026 semester. The successful applicants will grade all submitted assignments before the next class meeting and submit the grades online using McGill systems. Requirements

  • Demonstrable knowledge in written Arabic is required.
  • Applicants must be in good standing in their academic program.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
  • English communication both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to graduate students in the PhD program at the Institute of Islamic Studies.
  • Demonstrable intermediate knowledge in written Arabic is required (for ISLA 332/622 D1).
  • Demonstrable advanced knowledge in written Arabic is required (for ISLA 423/623 D1).
  • Near-native proficiency in Arabic (for ISLA 332/622 D1).
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic (for ISLA 423/623 D1).

Responsibilities

  • Grade all submitted assignments before the next class meeting.
  • Submit the grades online using McGill systems.
