About The Position

Lander-Grinspoon Academy, a private school in Northampton, MA, is currently seeking a dynamic, creative and highly motivated full-time 6th grade teacher. The teacher will teach general studies to 6th grade students every day. This includes planning and delivering lessons in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The role also involves planning and overseeing graduation, staffing the “Teva” environmental overnight trip, and supporting families in transitioning to 7th grade placements. The teacher will partner with families through regular communication and nurture within each student a joyful sense of identity. A commitment to implementing the school's social/emotional curriculum as well as its strong academic program is essential.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree
• Have at least 5 years of teaching experience, ideally in 6th grade
• Are enthusiastic about contributing to school-wide initiatives including social justice, our on-site working farm, and creative arts
• Are equally committed to our social/emotional curriculum as to our strong academic program
• Work well as part of team

Responsibilities
