About The Position

École Agnes Davidson Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join their team as a French Immersion Grade 2 teacher. The successful candidate will contribute to a vibrant school culture by supporting student learning with passion, enthusiasm, flexibility, and a strong team-player attitude. This role requires a strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy and numeracy instruction in French, the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, parents, community partners, and the inclusive educational team, and a belief in the capability of all students. The position is a 1.00 FTE temporary role with an expected start date of October 31st, 2026, concluding on June 29, 2027, or based on the return of the incumbent.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy and numeracy instruction in French.
  • Ability to build positive relationships through collaboration with colleagues, parents, community partners and the inclusive educational team to support student learning.
  • Belief in every child and holding high expectations where all students are seen as capable learners.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Fluent in both French and English.
  • A police information check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
  • A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
  • Proof of photo identification (e.g., valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card, valid passport, or Nexus card). If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
  • Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name cannot be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
