About The Position
The Grad Nurse Ortho position is on the 2 South unit, a 41-bed Orthopedic/Progressive care unit at Butterworth Hospital. This unit cares for a variety of medical and surgical patients, including those with diagnoses such as Orthopedic Trauma, Ortho Oncology, Hip & Spine Fractures, and Spine Surgery. Additionally, the unit manages Progressive Care and Med/Surg overflow patients with conditions like COPD, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Congestive Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, and those requiring Cardiac Drips, BiPAP, or post-operative care for heart ablation and pacemaker replacement. The unit emphasizes teamwork and has a stable leadership with over 20 years of experience, fostering a supportive culture for learning and development.
Requirements
- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
- Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
