About The Position

Provides pharmaceutical care to Members by processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders under the direction of a Pharmacist. This role involves counseling Members regarding health care and prescription medication needs, following company policies and procedures to support the immunization program, maintaining confidential information, and adhering to controlled medication procedures as permitted by local, state, and federal laws. The intern will ensure the accuracy of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances, and evaluate potential chemical interactions and side effects. They will also ensure accurate communication and interpretation of written prescriptions to and from physicians, and maintain the confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records. Additionally, the role includes providing Member service by acknowledging Members, identifying their needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues, and promoting products and services while maintaining a safe shopping environment. The intern will operate equipment such as cash registers, receive and stock merchandise, organize and maintain the Pharmacy area, and ensure merchandise presentation by stocking, rotating, removing damaged goods, setting up displays, and signing/pricing merchandise appropriately. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD. Degree, or equivalent FPGEC (NABP)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate dictation, communication, and interpretation of written prescriptions to and from physicians.
  • Ensure confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records as required by Company policies and local, State, and Federal guidelines.
  • Provide Member service by acknowledging the Member, identifying Member needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving Member issues and concerns, and promoting products and services while maintaining a safe shopping environment.
  • Operate equipment such as cash registers and related tools to process Member purchases using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold.
  • Receive and stock merchandise/supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.
  • Organize and maintain the Pharmacy area by following Company procedures, utilizing equipment appropriately, merchandising, and completing and retaining required paperwork, logs, and other documentation.
  • Maintain the Pharmacy area in accordance with Company policies and procedures by properly handling claims and returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise/supplies, identifying shrink and damages, and ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Maintain merchandise presentation in the Pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged or out-of-date goods, setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays, signing and pricing merchandise appropriately, and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise.
