About The Position

Booz Allen is seeking a government relations professional to join its government relations team. This individual will work to achieve meaningful outcomes across cybersecurity, emerging technology, and intelligence issues with a strong emphasis on the national security space. This is a senior role for an experienced government relations professional. The ideal candidate will bring deep subject matter expertise in cybersecurity policy and practice, strong relationships across Capitol Hill and the executive branch, and the ability to operate effectively and with initiative in a large and collaborative corporate environment, including an emphasis with emerging technologies and expertise with the intelligence community and national security space. We need a strong team player who has a professional passion for excellence in government relations, building relationships, and demonstrating personal ownership of a government relations strategy that delivers short-term and long-term outcomes. Our business is always evolving. We need an individual with a curious mind, a strong desire for continual learning, and a respect for dissenting points of view.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the policy and government relations sector
  • Experience in cybersecurity policy, including federal cyber priorities, emerging threats, critical infrastructure, and national security issues
  • Experience working with Congress and the legislative process
  • Ability to develop and execute sophisticated, comprehensive government relations strategies that achieve outcomes aligned to business priorities
  • Ability to develop engagement strategies that foster a network of beneficial relationships for Booz Allen with policymakers in Congress, associations, and influencers
  • Ability to navigate a complex corporate environment and build consensus across a large organization using sound political judgment, executive presence, and relationship-building
  • Ability to develop strategies for leveraging a Political Action Committee and represent the company at political fundraising events
  • Ability to serve as a registered lobbyist on behalf of the company
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience serving or working in the executive branch, military, intelligence community, homeland security, or with technical policy issues
  • Experience serving in a senior capacity in relevant committees and offices on Capitol Hill
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, generative AI tools, and collaboration platforms

  • Possession of excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • TS/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of lobbying activities focused on Booz Allen’s cybersecurity, intelligence, and emerging technology business priorities.
  • Develop and lead the execution of comprehensive government relations strategies to advance Booz Allen’s business and policy priorities across cybersecurity, technology, and intelligence issues.
  • Collaborate with internal business leaders to ensure the company is building and maintaining strong relationships with executive branch policymakers, Congress, trade associations, think tanks, and other external partners.
  • Act as a strategist and facilitator in coordinating internal stakeholders and business leaders to develop alignment on public policy priorities and bring forward compelling points of view on policy debates relevant to Booz Allen’s business.
  • Identify opportunities to shape legislation, influence policy outcomes, and position Booz Allen as a trusted leader in cybersecurity, emerging technology, and national security issues.
  • Represent Booz Allen confidently at external events and stakeholder engagements.
  • Facilitate strong internal coordination and communications skills in ensuring that internal business partners receive timely updates on key policy developments.
  • Embrace a culture of working effectively with a wide variety of internal colleagues to integrate government relations with complementary external and internal functions.
